Living Sustainably in Community
|
Imagine living in a neighborhood that's welcoming, safe and eco-friendly.
Private homes with generous common facilites.
Where people know and care about each other in a real village setting.
Newt Crossing Community is a forming, intergenerational cohousing community.

- We have the land
(map).
17 acres of rural wooded area about 5 miles from downtown Port Townsend, WA
- The property currently has two houses, and a building to be converted into a center house
- We plan to build six more houses (depending on county permits) which will give us a community of eight residences and a common house
- Our project has been on hold for the past year (like many other projects during this pandemic)
- Our regular biweekly Zoom meetings (every other Sunday), which have kept the dream alive during this pandemic, are currently on hiatus until we're ready to hit the ground running again.
- We plan to have a new Newt Crossing Kickoff / Cohousing introduction, plus Getting it Built and Site Design workshops in the next few months
(depending on how quickly the pandemic abates).
This will give us a more realistic assessment of costs and timeline.
